Million Dollar Band Audition Requirements 2008:
The audition requirements are different for each of the four main sections of the Million Dollar Band as well as for incoming and returning students.
New for 2008: Any freshmen or transfer student
must provide a letter of recommendation on stationery from his/her High School band director. The letter of recommendation must be received prior to your audition. Please mail your recommendation letter to:

- Brass and Woodwinds
All freshmen and transfer brass and woodwind players audition on the dates and times listed below. The purpose of the audition is to determine if a student meets the performance skills required for membership in The Million Dollar Band. Students who do not meet the standards might be given alternate status with the opportunity to work into the performance roster. The audition consists of a prepared piece, scales (up to 4 flats and 4 sharps), and sight-reading.

Students auditioning from the 2007 MDB will do so at band camp. That audition will consist of scales (up to 4 flats and 4 sharps) and sight reading.

Thursday, January 31 (for Honor Band participants)

- Percussion
All students interested in auditioning for the Million Dollar Band Drumline are required to pre-audition for the percussion section and attend the July Percussion Audition-Camp, July 10 - 13, 2008. - Colorguard (Flags)
All students interested in auditioning for the Million Dollar Band Colorguard may do so at our auditions scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2008. At auditions, students will be introduced to the technique program. Final decisions regarding the performance roster will be made at auditions. For more information, please CLICK HERE
- Crimsonettes (Majorettes)
Auditions for Crimsonettes will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008, in the Concert Hall of the Moody Music Building on the campus of The University of Alabama. Please click here for Crimsonette Audition Requirements and Additional Info

SHELTON STATE STUDENTS:
What if I am a Shelton State, full-time student during the Fall Semester 2008?:
1. You will print out this application for admission and check the box:
"Non-Degree Seeking" as well as filling out the entire application and submitting it.
2. You will then go to the College of Arts and Sciences and meet
with an Advisor.
3. Make sure you tell Arts and Sciences that you are a non-degree seeking student
from Shelton State who wants only to register for marching band, MUA 153.
4. If you have any problems, ask for Mr. Tim Dillard.
5. Once you finish the process you will be declared a "Special Student."
6. You will now have a Bama email address and can enter that in our database.
7. You need to purchase a parking pass for the fall semester.
8. Go to Parking Services in the Student Services Building. You can purchase
a 3-month pass ($50) or a 6-month pass ($80).
